The 42nd USHLI National Conference Kicks Off Today in Chicago

Chicago, February 15- Under the leadership of Dr. Juan Andrade, the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) welcomes over 4,000 attendees for its 42nd National Conference, marking it as the largest assembly in the country of Hispanic students, young professionals, and emerging leaders. 
    The Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk conference will run from February 15 to 18, kicking off with a Student Leadership Empowerment Rally that gathers 2,600 students from 61 high schools and 1,500 students representing 98 colleges and universities across 25 states.
    This year, the confere nce will be highlighted by Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa, Chief of Neurological Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, and Dr. Susana Rivera-Mills, the first woman president of Aurora University and the first Latina university president in the Midwest.
    Distinguished attendees include Becky Pringle, President of the National Education Association, Patricia Perez Fresard, Chief Judge of the Third Circuit Court of Michigan, Stephanie La Rue, Chief of DEI & Accessibility in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and legendary actor Pepe Serna, among others.
    Notable honorees at the conference include Teresa Romero, President of the United Farmworkers Union; Carlos Tortolero, retired founder of the National Museum of Mexican Art; and SFC Sergeant Jorge Otero Barreto, the most decorated soldier in the Vietnam War. Dr. Juan Andrade, Founder and President of USHLI, is a renowned national leader who has been recognized for his outstanding achievements, having received numerous awards and honors, including being the fourth Latino in history decorated by both the President of the United States and the Government of Mexico for his exemplary service to the nation and the Mexican and Mexican American communities.
    Dr. Andrade’s impressive academic background includes earning five college degrees, three Master’s degrees, and a Doctorate. He has received six honorary doctorates and three distinguished alum awards. Dr. Andrade’s contributions and impact are widely celebrated and acknowledged with over 100 awards and high honors, including lifetime achievement recognition, being listed among the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in America, and numerous accolades from prestigious organizations.”
