Finding the right path

Age: 33

Organization: Deloitte Consulting

Title: M&A Management Consultant

Robert Franco is a New York City-based management consultant with Deloitte’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) practice. Working mostly with big technology and consumer companies, Franco has been providing M&A and organizational transformation advisory services for over eight years. Concurrently, Franco is a part of a small group of Deloitte consultants that provide pro-bono consulting services to nonprofit organizations such as Homeboy Industries and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Prior to joining Deloitte, Franco worked with Teach For America (TFA) for over four years. He first served as a secondary mathematics teacher in the south Los Angeles area, and then as part of the San Diego staff—helping grow the newly established SD chapter.

Franco grew up in Anaheim, California with his parents and two siblings. His parents immigrated to southern California from Mexico in the ‘70s. Like many with similar backgrounds, his parents raised their children with traditional Mexican / Latino traditions and customs. Franco holds steadfast to many of these customs – specifically, maintaining faith, family, and community as central life pillars. Franco was the first in his family to attend a 4-year university and receive a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree (Loyola Marymount University 2012 and 2014, respectively).

Franco loves to stay physically active with running, CrossFit, and playing soccer, and he is planning to run his first half-marathon next year. He also loves exploring new restaurants and bars, playing guitar, and traveling.
