Mayor Brandon Johnson appointed Julie Hernandez-Tomlin as Commissioner of the Department of Fleet and Facility Management (2FM).

Hernandez-Tomlin brings nearly two decades of experience working with the City of Chicago to her new role. She has held leadership roles at the Chicago Department of Water Management and Streets and Sanitation.

Hernandez-Tomlin has also served as Executive Vice President of Business Affairs at SPAAN Tech Inc., a minority and women-owned business. She brings strong union relations, sharp business strategy, and a comprehensive understanding of facility management. Hernandez-Tomlin will be confirmed by the City Council at the February meeting.
