#17 – Anthony Hodes

Thriving in commercial real estate

Age: 30

Title: Managing Partner

Name of Organization: H.A.S.E.

Anthony Hodes grew-up on the north side of Chicago to a Jewish father and a Cuban mother. Anthony’s mother, Maria, immigrated to the US as part of Operation Pedro Pan in 1961. The impact of her refugee experience and her dedication to the Chicago Latino community played a significant role in Anthony’s appreciation for the community growing up.

Anthony attended the University of Michigan where he majored in History and was active in various Latino student organizations. He also felt obliged to assist incoming Latino students transition and acclimate to the university settings.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Anthony began his career in commercial real estate and worked for a private equity firm in southeastern Florida.

Anthony returned to Chicago where he continued working in commercial real estate. He worked at Related Midwest before starting his own company in October of 2017. As HASE companies began purchasing workforce housing in the Bridgeport neighborhood and has since branched out to student housing, Anthony’s goal was to become an active force in ground-up development and workforce housing acquisitions outside of Chicago.

Anthony continues to stay active in the Latino community through his participation as a Trustee of the National Museum of Mexican Art.

Words of Wisdom:
