María del Pilar Casal is an award-winning media and advertising professional with over a decade of experience driving audience and revenue growth for publishers and brands. Across her diverse experience, she has worked to deliver unique and compelling consumer experiences across traditional and emerging platforms. Her work has been recognized by the ADDYs, Tellys, Cynopsis, and more. Maria del Pilar brings her culture and life experience to everything she does, not only impacting the media and tech space, but ensuring she is bringing future generations with her.
A native New Yorker, María del Pilar was raised in her beloved borough of the Bronx. Her parents have been a strong and supportive influence in her professional life. Her mother Anabel, from Villalba, Puerto Rico, and having a lifelong career in education, taught her the importance of community and purpose driven work. Her father Miguel Angel, an entrepreneur and accountant from Buenos Aires, Argentina, instilled in her the value of hard work and determination. Their example and lesson have been her guide always.
Currently at TelevisaUnivision, María del Pilar leads digital strategy for the company’s US advertising clients. Speaking both sales and tech languages, she is responsible for driving revenue through innovative ad solutions, hyper focusing on the company’s streaming video and influencer marketing product offerings. She leads a team of diverse marketers that help tell brand’s stories to the Latino consumer, in language and in culture.
Prior to her current position, María del Pilar held roles that spanned the company’s sales and content operations, leading key projects including the creation of its Local and regional branded content and social monetization practice, and developing the network’s national social media strategy for its prime-time programming. Throughout these roles, she brought her keen understanding of the Latino audience and their behaviors across digital and social media platforms.
María del Pilar has also held roles at L’Oréal, G.S. Schwartz & Co., and more, leading communications and social media strategy for clients in the CPG and fashion industries.
María del Pilar is passionate about opening the doors of tech and media to her community. She enjoys spending her time mentoring future generations of leaders. She holds a B.A. in Marketing from the City College of New York and currently resides in New York. She enjoys learning and constantly evolving professionally and personally.
