Hispanic American Construction Industry Association
Jorge Perez grew up in his family grocery and bakery stores where he developed a strong work ethic and great ability to work with people. His family lived in the apartment above this store, and as an undergraduate he managed the store, closing it in 1994 in order to pursue his MBA and start his career in economic development and business advocacy in Chicago and Illinois.
For the past eight years, Perez has served as executive director of The Hispanic American Construction Industry Association. He previously worked at the Calumet Area Industrial Commission and in 2008 was appointed deputy commissioner for Chicago’s Department of Aviation.
