Ismael Rocha’s two-decade tenure at BMO Bank has been marked by a steady rise through the ranks, showcasing his evolving skills and leadership prowess. Starting as a bank teller, he swiftly transitioned to a high-performing personal banker, followed by service manager and assistant branch manager roles. Subsequently, Ismael assumed managerial positions, overseeing the development and leadership of specialty teams.

Currently serving as the Unit Sales Manager for BMO Virtual Connect, Ismael has garnered four internal Top Performer awards. In this capacity, he spearheads the sales strategy, driving growth and facilitating new customer acquisition. He leads a team of over 40 bankers and ensures top-tier customer experience scores while setting benchmarks for employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and community impact. Ismael’s outstanding contributions earned him the prestigious BMO Personal & Business Banking Coach of the Year Award in 2023.

Passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion, Ismael actively participates in BMO’s Latino Alliance Employee Resource Group, advocating for the development of Latino colleagues. As the Awareness Officer of BMO Virtual Connect Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, and Co-Chair of Latino Alliance’s IL Naperville Chapter, he promotes cultural awareness and facilitates learning experiences to combat unconscious bias. Ismael also engages in professional development events and community outreach and celebrates his Latino heritage during Hispanic Heritage Month.

Raised in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, Ismael maintains strong community ties and contributes to Casa Central’s Emerging Leaders Auxiliary Board, supporting fundraising endeavors to empower individuals. Holding a bachelor’s degree in integrative biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Ismael recently earned his Mini-MBA Certificate from the University at Buffalo School of Management. Outside of work, he coaches youth baseball teams and passionately supports Chicago sports teams.
