Illinois tollway seeks professional engineering firms for upcoming projects

  Ten contracts worth an estimated $45 million include design and construction management services

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – The Illinois Tollway today announced that it is seeking firms to provide design and construction management services for 10 new contracts as part of the fifth year of the 15-year, $12 billion capital program Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Driving the Future.
The contracts will provide for an estimated $45 million in professional engineering services related to the Tollway’s Move Illinois Program.
“The Illinois Tollway is committed to creating opportunities for firms of all types and sizes to participate in the Move Illinois Program,” said Illinois Tollway Executive Director Greg Bedalov. “More than 120 professional engineering service contracts have been awarded since the capital program launched in 2012, and the new contracts advertised today will provide ongoing work and jobs for the construction industry.”
Contracts being advertised today include: ·    A construction management contract for work upon request on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway
(I-90) Rebuilding and Widening Project and systemwide improvements including bridge rehabilitation or reconstruction, retaining wall repairs, right-of-way fence installation and landscaping.
·    Two construction management contracts for work upon request systemwide including bridge and pavement repairs.
·    A construction management contract for work upon request for maintenance facilities improvements.
·    A construction management contract for work upon request for facilities improvements, signing and pavement markings.
·    Two design contracts for roadway and bridge rehabilitation on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88). ·    Two design contracts for roadway and bridge rehabilitation on the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-
355). ·    A contract for environmental studies upon request.
Firms interested in submitting a proposal can visit the “Doing Business” section on the Tollway’s website www.illinoistollway.com for more information. Submissions are due February 9, 2016, with contracts expected to be awarded by the Illinois Tollway Board of Directors in May. Work is expected to begin this year.
