Dora was born in Mexico but considers herself a lifelong Chicagoan now. As Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook County, she practices in the areas of tort and civil rights law. She also currently serves as Communications Secretary for the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, where she previously served as Recording Secretary. Dora is also the Vice-Chair for Casa Central’s Emerging Leaders Auxiliary Board and has been a board member since ELAB’s inception.

She attended Lane Tech College Preparatory High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. Dora obtained her law degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Chicago-Kent College of Law in May of 2018 and is admitted to practice law in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Dora has led multiple philanthropy campaigns and events benefitting various Chicago organizations starting during her time at DePaul University fundraising to benefit Lurie Children’s Hospital. She also volunteers with the Center for Disability and Elder Law to ensure Senior Citizens in Cook County have valid powers of attorney for property and healthcare matters.  

In her spare time, Dora enjoys reading and attending group fitness classes. As a compassionate, enthusiastic, and adventurous individual Dora looks forward to advancing and improving the lives of individuals living in Chicago’s Latino Communities through service.  Recently, she was appointed Chairperson for Casa Central’s Emerging leaders Auxiliary Board.
