Title: CEO

Jasmine Hernandez is the Founder and CEO of Ubuntu Strategies, a national marketing and events firm headquartered in Chicago, with branches in Los Angeles, Houston, and Miami. Her leadership has shaped Ubuntu Strategies into a symbol of purpose-driven campaigns, specializing in collaborations with socially impactful clients who share the philosophy of “I am because we are.” The firm’s pride lies in partnering with numerous non-profits and corporate entities to drive significant social change.

A trailblazer and first-generation college graduate, Hernandez’s journey began with a deep-seated passion for education equity. She made her mark at Noble Schools, her alma mater, as an alumni counselor. Her efforts supported over 300 alumni through their transition to college, achieving an 85 percent student retention rate, surpassing the network’s 70 percent average.

Recognizing the broader challenges faced by students in the Chicago Public Schools system, Hernandez transitioned to support La Casa Norte, an organization dedicated to serving homeless youth and families. There, she generated over $350,000 for annual galas, highlighting her growing passion for marketing.

This passion propelled Hernandez into entrepreneurship with Status Group, where she spearheaded operations and business development. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic challenges, her multi-faceted approach doubled the agency’s clientele and revenue, leading to her promotion to partner.

At Metro Edge Development Partners, Hernandez served as Vice President of Marketing and Social Impact, culminating in her entrepreneurial journey with the founding of Ubuntu Strategies.

Hernandez holds a B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Environmental Studies from Cornell College. She sits on the board of directors for multiple organizations, including La Casa Norte, Noble Schools, and Metro Edge Work.

Words of Wisdom: “Don’t waste your time on comparison. Sometimes you’re ahead and sometimes you’re behind. The race is long but, ultimately, it’s only with yourself.” – Jasmine Hernandez
