Organization: #LatinaGeeks and Aprumo Design LLC
Age: 30
Valeria is a senior robotics engineer at Everest Labs and an entrepreneur specializing in early-stage product development and automation systems. As the founder of Aprumo Design LLC, she partners with startups to transform ideas into functional prototypes, combining mechanical design expertise with hands-on execution. Her work includes programming and deploying industrial robotic systems, and is named inventor of two patents, reflecting her focus on practical, scalable innovation.
She is the founding president of the Silicon Valley chapter of Latina Geeks, where she leads efforts to increase representation, visibility, and opportunity for Latinas in technology and engineering. Through this role, she helps build stronger professional networks and pathways for women pursuing careers in STEM.
Originally from Mexico, Valeria immigrated to the United States at 16 and faced significant barriers pursuing higher education, including limited access to financial aid. Determined to continue, she secured private scholarships and mentorship support, ultimately graduating debt-free from Santa Clara University. Her journey continues to shape her commitment to expanding access and opportunity for others.
In addition to her engineering work, Valeria is focused on economic empowerment and representation for Latinas in STEM and entrepreneurship. She actively contributes to conversations around financial independence, leadership, and building sustainable income streams within underrepresented communities in Silicon Valley.
