Q: What is the significance of this year’s USHCC National Conference, and what makes it different from previous years?
A: This year’s National Conference marks the 46th anniversary of this event that has continually championed the growth and success of Hispanic-owned small businesses— which have grown by more than 34% over the past decade. This year, we’re focused on addressing the most critical challenges and opportunities facing small business entrepreneurs today, including navigating market changes, workforce development, access to capital, and expanding global markets, to further strengthen the economic prosperity of America’s small businesses. A new highlight of this year’s conference is our rebranded Expo Hall, now known as the Plaza Mercado—a vibrant marketplace where small businesses will showcase their products and services alongside interactive activations from corporate partners like T-Mobile and Aflac. This dynamic space reflects our commitment to fostering direct connections between entrepreneurs and the companies that support them.
Q: What key themes or priorities will be front and center during this year’s conference agenda?
A: The key themes for this year’s conference reflect the evolving issues and opportunities entrepreneurs face today. Under the banner of “Advancing America’s Economic Future,” we will focus on small business growth, leadership development, procurement, navigating the current economic and political landscape, and expanding access to capital and global markets. These priorities are designed to equip our attendees with the knowledge and resources needed to thrive in today’s business environment.
Q: How does the USHCC’s mission to support small businesses come to life through the National Conference?
A: There are over 5 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States contributing more than $800 billion to the national economy. Supporting their growth is not just part of our mission but a national priority. The National Conference is one of the most powerful expressions of that mission. By bringing together entrepreneurs, corporate executives, policymakers, and experts in one place, the conference fosters an ecosystem where meaningful connections and collaborations thrive. Programs like the Supplier Marketplace and advocacy sessions help attendees connect with potential clients, access capital, and navigate policy, turning opportunities into measurable growth and real impact. It is a space where we listen to what business owners need, advocate on their behalf, and connect them to the tools and relationships that can move their business forward.
Q: What are some of the most anticipated sessions, speakers, or announcements attendees should look out for?
A: We are excited to welcome U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-Deremer to provide a keynote address regarding the significance of workforce development. This year’s conference program is packed with sessions that dive into the most relevant topics for entrepreneurs. Sessions such as “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Small Business Growth” explore practical ways entrepreneurs can use AI—which 75% of small businesses are already investing in—to improve operations and customer engagement, while “Winning Corporate Contracts: How Small Businesses Can Land Big Deals” offers valuable insights into navigating procurement processes and building strong corporate partnerships. The Supplier Marketplace also provides unique one-on-one meetings with corporate buyers to help businesses secure valuable contracts, along with procurement-focused roundtables designed to foster deeper engagement and connections. This year, our Chamber Presidents’ Reception will be sponsored by Mastercard and they are working on a few exciting activities. We’ll also be announcing the location for next year’s National Conference!
Q: How is the USHCC using this year’s conference to foster deeper collaboration between small business enterprises, local chamber leaders, corporate partners, and government officials?
A: We are creating intentional opportunities for dialogue and partnership through structured networking, supplier matchmaking, and advocacy training. These efforts break down traditional barriers between sectors, enabling entrepreneurs and also chamber leaders to build strategic relationships with corporate buyers and policymakers. This collaborative approach strengthens the entire business ecosystem and opens new pathways for growth and influence.
Q:What do you hope attendees—especially small business owners—take away from this year’s conference?
A: The goal is for every entrepreneur to leave with renewed confidence, practical knowledge, and new relationships that propel their business forward. We aim to equip them with the tools, resources, and networks they need to thrive in a competitive environment—and to feel supported as part of a growing community that is shaping the future of the American economy.
