Currently serving as the Director of Regional Operations at Summit Public Schools, Uriel leads strategic initiatives that enhance student engagement and operational excellence across 12 schools in the Bay Area and Washington, ensuring that each initiative is aligned with the evolving needs of the community.
Uriel’s professional and personal journey—spanning Los Angeles, Mexico, Washington and the Bay Area—has deeply shaped his perspective on education and leadership. As a first-generation college graduate and two-time Fulbright US grantee, he has taught and led in various communities, tailoring his approach to meet the specific educational and professional goals of students. These experiences have affirmed for him the power of community-driven leadership and the importance of building supportive ecosystems around students and educators.
Uriel’s Latino identity fuels his passion for designing initiatives that unlock the full potential of students and their communities. He has witnessed firsthand how strong operational systems and community representation can drive educational excellence.
