Name of Organization: The Dapper Club
Ricardo Perez passion for luxury clothing began early when he was influenced by the style of The Rat Pack era — renowned for luxurious lifestyles, sharp suits, and debonair personalities — which he began to apply to his own life.
Perez joined the Marine Corps where he specialized in creating small explosives. In the military the attention to detail and polished uniforms further influenced his approach to style and tailoring. After the Marines, he began a sales career and worked in banking and telecommunications. His knowledge and love for clothing grew as he began to offer styling advice to close friends and family in selecting their wardrobe and tailoring.
Frustrated with the lack of control in ready to wear and limited styling options, The Dapper Club came to fruition in 2014. His goals were to provide a quality, perfectly fitted garment in a stress-free experience. He created a club where clients don’t feel pressured, feel like family and show the potential of what custom luxury can provide.
The Dapper Club has since grown to be one of the top custom clothing companies in Chicago with clients all over the United States. He’s an active supporter of many community causes including earthquake relief in Mexico, A Night for the Kids, a charity assisting underprivileged children receive toys during the holidays. He and his partner Miriam, who serves as director of operations and Womenswear Designer at the Dapper Club, have two daughters Aly and Zoe and a Husky, Drago.
