From Silicon Valley to Latinas on the Plaza

 Aurora. IL- (HINA) Best-selling author Gina Amaro Rudan will be the keynote speaker at Latinas on the Plaza-2015. She is the best selling author of Practical Genius and president of Genuine Insights Inc., a global marketing and talent development consulting practice based in Silicon Valley. In 2013, Rudan was inducted into the National Association of Women Business Owners Hall of Fame.
The Latinas on the Plaza conference was founded by Luz Canino Baker two years ago to teach women how to negotiate. In 2012 the event brought together 70 Latina professionals representing 15 Fortune 500 companies and some non-profits organizations. The 2015 conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 9 at The Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows. The event will feature Rudan’s keynote about “unleashing genius,” as well as Shebani Kulkarni’s session, “Mindfulness and Connecting WIthin,” Luz Canino-Baker’s session, “Emotional Self Awareness,” mastermind groups, roundtable discussions and a health and wellness activity.
The keynote speaker has been a guest lecturer and trainer for organizations including TED, Microsoft, PepsiCo, Google, Nike, Merck Co., Summit Series, the BET Network, the Interpublic Group, LinkedIn and Stanford University, among many others.
Before launching her own practice, Rudan held management positions at Fortune 500 companies including Avon Products and PR Newswire, where she was responsible for spearheading multicultural and international marketing efforts.
Rudan currently serves on the Generation Listen Advisory Board for National Public Radio. In 2012 she was named one of the top 10 inspirational twitter accounts to follow by the Huffington Post and was also selected as one of the top 20 Latino Trailblazers in the United States by Best Buy. A native New Yorker, Gina graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Binghamton University and is a National Urban Fellow holding a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Baruch College in New York City.
