Bio: In just a short time, Michael J. Rodriguez has led the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) Chicago to record-breaking heights. Over the last two years that he’s served as Vice President of Universities and Student Relations, Rodriguez has transformed ALPFA Chicago’s student programming and extended the chapter’s student presence across Illinois. During his tenure, ALPFA Chicago doubled the number of student chapters in their network, doubled student membership and hosted the largest student symposium in the organization’s history, breaking attendance and revenue records nationally two years in a row.
In 2013, Rodriguez co-founded Sprouting Leaders, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting academic growth and personal development among youth in some of Chicago’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods. Sprouting Leaders believes that through mentorship, education and service, youth can become leaders within their communities. Sprouting Leaders has dedicated more than 7,000 hours to mentoring youth, impacted more than 300 students and received support from more than 50 of Chicago’s greatest companies.
Rodriguez is also a Senior Risk and Controls Consultant for the Milwaukee-based WEC Energy, which serves over four million customers throughout the Midwest. Before that, he spent more than four years at PwC, most recently as a senior auditor in the financial services industry.
He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois.
