Bio: Melissa Pillars takes pride in how diligently she and her team work to understand the unique needs of small business owners. She is a Business Banking Area Manager covering Chicago’s western suburbs and has been with JPMorgan Chase for 13 years. Through her team, she is responsible for overseeing the business banking portfolio, managing credit offerings and ensuring a superior customer experience.

Pillars participates in a number of JPMorgan Chase employee resource groups. She co-chairs Adelante, a group dedicated to the retention and development of Latino professionals. She is the the chair emeritus of the Women’s Interactive Network. And she is a mentor for The Fellowship Initiative, an intensive academic and leadership program that focuses on helping young men of color complete their high school education and gain admission to top-rated universities.

Within her community, Pillars serves on the Board of Directors of Instituto del Progreso Latino, an organization whose mission is to contribute to the fullest development of Latino immigrants and their families through education, training and employment that fosters full participation in the changing U.S. society while preserving cultural identity and dignity.

Born and raised in Chicago, Pillars received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Loyola University Chicago. She lives in Elmhurst with her husband, James, and loving dog, Ripley.
