Gregorio “Greco” Hernández

Making a sweet dream a reality

Age: 35

Title: CEO and Co-Founder

Name of Organization: La Dulce Vida Neveria

Bio: Originally from Guerrero, Mexico, Gregorio “Greco” Hernández was only 10 years old when he moved to the United States in 1991. He was still young when he started selling CDs on the street and later had a spot at a local flea market. He held several jobs, from washing dishes to making tacos. This experience would prove useful as he made his dream of owning an ice cream shop into a reality.

For the last four years, he has been living this dream. Together with a friend he met years ago on social media, Jorge Galvan, Hernández developed the idea for La Dulce Vida. Soon, they became business associates focused on turning fruits and vegetables into healthy juices. La Dulce Vida offers traditional Mexican flavors of ice cream, fresh-fruit smoothies and other popular snack items. All its locations are modern, appealing and new.

Hernández’s vision for the future is to make the company a franchise so others can benefit by becoming store owners. He believes entrepreneurs need to set the bar high by constantly refining their concept according to their customers’ needs.

Despite numerous ice cream and juice bars emerging that are similar to La Dulce Vida, Galvan and Hernández know better than to be intimidated or envious. Instead, they find satisfaction in knowing they are leaders in their field setting great examples to follow.
