As Director of Corporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives at NBCUniversal, Pilar Mera spearheads strategic and operational management of NBCUniversal’s global Employee Resource Group enterprise.

With over 125 chapters and 14,000 members, it’s a vast network that requires proven expertise and precise attention to detail. She previously led go-to-market plans through strategic trade communications and client experiences for the NBCUniversal One Platform, Hispanic, and Entertainment Groups.

Before joining NBCUniversal in 2014, she led strategic recommendations for consumer campaigns that drove awareness and sales of HBO’s award-winning home entertainment releases, including Game of Thrones in the United States and international markets.

Her career began at Viacom, where she focused on affiliate and retail business development strategies for Nickelodeon.

As a proud alum of the 2021 Mujeres de HACE, she credits the group for its focus on the community and empowering future leaders.

She also served with the 2020-21 Advertising Club of NY imparting Women’s Fellowship executive and leadership programs. In 2018 she was selected out of 700 to participate in Comcast’s Know Your Value (KYV) summit in San Francisco, Calif. She also participated in Johnson & Johnson’s Human Performance Institute program out of over 100 competitors in Orlando, Fl.

She currently serves as a KYV Brand Ambassador at NBCUniversal and on the associate board of the HOPE program, an organization empowering New Yorkers to build sustainable futures through training, jobs, and support for career advancement. She also sits on the multicultural committee of She Runs It, where she mentors early career professionals. In 2020 she was nominated for the prestigious ADCOLOR Change Agent award for her community impact.

In 2014 she was tapped as a Hispanic Leader by the United States-Spain Council to strengthen bilateral relations across media, education, and government organizations between the two countries.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She earned her MBA from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in Management and Marketing.
