“The impact of AI will be profound: from automating mundane tasks to providing insights and predictions about a company’s financial and operational efficiency.” – Paco Lebrón

For Paco Lebrón, CEO of the information technology (IT) services firm ProdigyTeks Inc., based in West Loop, Chicago, the integration of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), represents a great step forward, but also a challenge to overcome, especially for small businesses.
According to him, “some companies are taking advantage of the potential of artificial intelligence, but there is still much untapped potential. The reasons [for this phenomenon] vary, ranging from a lack of awareness to financial limitations regarding which AI platform to invest in.”
Lebrón, who holds a degree in Computer Engineering Technology from DeVry University in Illinois, said that, as managed service providers (MSPs), he and his team are trying to “demystify AI and make it more accessible to companies in various sectors, including construction, manufacturing, and legal services.”
When asked by Negocios Now about the main challenge facing Latino businesses with the arrival of this technology, the expert did not hesitate to affirm that the digital divide must definitely be narrowed.
Lebrón acknowledged that “many Latino businesses do not have the same level of access to advanced technologies or trained professionals who can leverage AI,” therefore, he said, “it is essential to partner with a managed cloud service provider to provide education and resources that help these businesses effectively integrate AI into their operations.”
Regarding the future of this technology and its impact on the business landscape, the co-founder of Tech Unplugged, a national summit aimed at leaders and entrepreneurs in his industry, noted that AI is “a transformative force that will redefine how businesses operate.”
In his view, “the impact of AI will be profound: from automating mundane tasks to providing insights and predictions about a company’s financial and operational efficiency. However,” he emphasized, “it is also about striking a balance between technological advancement and human expertise.” That’s precisely what his renowned company, recognized as a leading MSP by Channel Futures NextGen 101 in 2023, is doing. “At ProdigyTeks,” he stated, “we are embracing AI by staying ahead of the curve and investing in continuous learning with partners like Microsoft and leveraging advanced AI platforms in the IT industry.”
He added, “We are also adapting our services to include AI solutions and benefits. This approach helps us not only survive the ‘tsunami’ but also ride the wave toward greater innovation and efficiency.”
Currently, his company offers network design and implementation services, network security, email/spam protection, IT support and managed services, backup and disaster recovery, and cybersecurity.
And as he himself predicts, their future is bright. “By integrating AI into our core services and keeping pace with technological advancements in the cloud, we are positioning ourselves as a forward-thinking MSP that empowers businesses to thrive in the digital age. We are evolving from simply a managed service provider to a trusted business advisor for our clients.”
