Pablo Enriquez, a beloved entrepreneur and pillar of Chicago’s Pilsen community, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award during the Negocios Now Who’s Who in Hispanic Business Gala on July 25 at the historic Old Post Office.

Born in Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila, and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Pablo began his journey in the produce markets of northern Mexico. That early experience laid the foundation for what would become a remarkable entrepreneurial path in the United States. After arriving in Chicago, Pablo worked as a produce buyer for La Mundial, a supermarket in the heart of Pilsen. But it wasn’t long before he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and launched his own business.

In 1989, with hard work, grit, and the support of his wife, Agustina, Pablo founded Enriquez Produce, Inc., a wholesale produce distribution company. What began as a small operation at 19th Street and Blue Island Avenue—with family selling at the weekend street market “La Garra”—has grown into a cornerstone business serving both local and regional markets.

In 1996, Pablo moved Enriquez Produce to a larger facility at Blue Island and Damen, eventually expanding it in 2006 to accommodate the growing demand. Today, Enriquez Produce is a trusted supplier for grocery stores, restaurants, and wholesale distributors across the Midwest, sourcing high-quality produce from both the U.S. and Mexico.

Pablo’s success is not just measured in business growth, but in his steadfast commitment to community and family. He employs local residents, maintains deep roots in Pilsen, and runs the company alongside his wife and four of their five children—Pablo Jr., Yadira, Ulises, and Andres.

With over three decades of leadership, Pablo Enriquez’s story is one of vision, resilience, and the enduring power of family. The Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates his extraordinary contributions to Hispanic business and his legacy as a leader who has helped nourish both a community and a cross-border economy.
