Negocios Now, owned by Chicago-based Nicado Publishing Co., received three Jose Marti Publishing Awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) at its convention held September 21-23 at the Hyatt Hotel in Oak Brook, Illinois.
The prize for “Outstanding Business Article” went to a piece published by Nicado entitled GSG Consultant Inc: Home run con las bases llenas. The award for “Outstanding Business Section” was presented in recognition of NegociosNow’s “Perfiles” (Profiles) section, which regularly features in-depth interviews with key leaders from the Hispanic business community.
One of the awards received, Outstanding Design, was announced on the publisher, Clemente Nicado’s birthday. Since 2010 Negocios Now has received 10 national awards.
“It was one of the best birthday presents in my life, but it also has been a special recognition for the Negocios Now family that bet on a publication that makes an effort to serve the growing Hispanic Business Community in Chicago and the Metropolitan area”, Nicado said.
The bilingual publication is unique in the country and has been awarded seven national prizes since 2007, including the Peter Lisagor Award for General Excellence by the Chicago Headline Club in 2012. In September 2013, the business paper received special recognition from the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at its national convention in Chicago for its contributions to the Hispanic business community.
“These awards are also due to the support from sponsors who have recognized NegociosNow as a vehicle to reach the emerging Hispanic business community through useful and well-written content, as well as excellent design,” Nicado said.
NegociosNow’s sponsors include Comcast, Wintrust Financial Corporation, United Airlines, Sprint, Verizon, Liberty Power, American Family Insurance, State Farm, GMC, and many others.
