Chicago, 12 February 2021 — Negocios Now, a national award-winning publication based in Chicago, announced today its list of Latinos 40 Under 40 Class of 2020, recognizing the leadership of young Latinos in the Chicago metropolitan area.
This is the seventh group of Latino leaders under the age of 40 that the publication has selected from Chicago and New York City since the initiative was launched in 2015.
“Once again we had an amazing selection of young, talented Latinos who are making a visible difference in their respective fields, and of whom we should all be proud,” said Clemente Nicado, Publisher of Negocios Now.
Nicado said that each year selecting 40 young Latinos is a major challenge for their editorial board.
“Not only do we have more nominations but they are all extraordinary young people, with a bright future. The selection of 40 young people from among more than 100 nominations is really a bigger challenge than 6 years ago”, he said.
“Unfortunately, we must select only 40, but those who were not selected this time, will be considered for future editions,” added Nicado.
Negocios Now has recognized a total of 280 young adults since the initiative was launched in 2015, including 40 from New York in 2019, when the publication celebrated a successful event at The Copacabana Times Square with over 250 attendees.
Nicado Publishing, owner of Negocios Now and El Chicago Hispano, will announce the celebration date soon.
“Due to the pandemic, we will not be able to celebrate it and deliver the awards in person as we have done. It will be a virtual event again as we did last year, but there is no doubt that we will enjoy the celebration,” said Nicado.
Remy Martin is the presenting sponsor of the event, with additional support from major companies such as Wintrust, Peoples Gas and BMO Harris Bank. Other sponsors will be announced later.
During the ceremony, Negocios Now presents the Youngest Latino Under 40, Rising Star and Leader of the Pack awards. One of the nominees will also receive a special award from Remy Martin.
