Award-winning journalist Miryam Villarreal will serve as the Emcee for the San Francisco Bay Area Latinos 40 Under 40 Class of 2025, taking place on May 29 at the iconic Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Silicon Valley.
Known for her dynamic presence and commitment to elevating Latino voices, Villarreal brings passion and professionalism to this celebration of emerging Hispanic leaders.
It will be the second cohort celebration in San Francisco after the inauguration of this program last year, also sponsored by BMO Bank.
Villarreal is a multimedia anchor and reporter for Noticiero Telemundo 48, where she covers breaking news and top stories that matter most to the Hispanic community in the Bay Area. With deep roots in bilingual journalism, she has built a reputation for storytelling that connects, informs, and empowers.
Previously, she was the anchor for Noticiero Telemundo California, delivering news to Spanish-speaking audiences across Northern California and the Central Valley. Her career also includes experience as a news anchor and reporter for Noticias WINK/WUVF, as well as a radio host and traffic reporter for 96.9 WINK FM.
During her college years, Villarreal interned at Telemundo Chicago, a pivotal step in her path toward becoming one of the region’s leading Latina journalists.
Her impactful reporting has earned national and regional recognition. She received a regional Emmy Award for Escaramuzas: A Todo Galope, a compelling feature on Northern California’s traditional Mexican equestrian sport. She was also named a finalist for Best Writer by the Florida Association of Black Journalists (FABJ) for her cultural piece Raíces Hispanas.
Villarreal holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication with a concentration in Psychology from Saint Xavier University. She is a proud National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) member.
