Name of Organization: The Chicago Public Education Fund
LeShonne currently serves as the Manager, of Program Investments at the Chicago Public Education Fund. There, she is responsible for The Fund’s in-role supports programs, which includes managing The Summer Design Program, Professional Learning Communities and other principal professional development efforts designed to improve public school performance across Chicago.
Prior to The Fund, LeShonne served as an administrator with more than 10 years of combined nonprofit, teaching, and school leadership experience. She began her teaching career with Teach For America as the Director of College Counseling in the Noble Network of Charter Schools. Most recently, she served as an Education Pioneer at New Schools for Chicago, and she was responsible for launching community engagement and advocacy work as the founding Director of Family and Community Engagement at Rowe Elementary School.
Passionate about urban education, LeShonne serves on the Noble Alumni Association Board, her alma mater. She is also a Chicago native and an alumna of Chicago Public Schools. She is a graduate of Amherst College in Massachusetts and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and has also received a Masters in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
In her free time, LeShonne enjoys exercising, reading, traveling, and exploring new restaurants with husband, Adrian, the Director of City Affairs at Illinois Network of Charter Schools, and their daughter, Amelie.
