Kimberly Marroquin: Bridging Fans, Culture, and Community

Title: Senior Coordinator of Public Relations

Organization: Chicago White Sox

Age: 33

Kimberly Marroquin enters her ninth season with the Chicago White Sox as a key contributor to the club’s public relations and special events efforts, playing an integral role in executing high-profile ballpark events and advancing the organization’s multicultural initiatives.

In collaboration with the Archdiocese of Chicago, Marroquin helped execute all event operations logistics for the city-wide Chicago Celebration of Pope Leo XIV at Rate Field. She works closely with Black and Latino community partners to organize and oversee ballpark activations and signature events, including Amateur City Elite (ACE) signing day celebrations and the Double Duty Classic — an annual tribute to the White Sox rich ties to Negro Leagues baseball and the historic East-West All-Star Games played at Old Comiskey Park.

Marroquin is also part of the small team that produced SoxFest Live, a sold-out fan gathering reimagined at Chicago’s Ramova Theatre this past January. Welcoming players, coaches, broadcasters and fans for energized on-stage programming, meet-and-greets, team announcements and more, the event is an unofficial start to Spring Training and fan excitement for the upcoming season.

As part of her multicultural leadership, she spearheaded initiatives that resulted in back-to-back sellouts of Mexican Heritage Night and helped ideate the club’s first-ever Puerto Rican Heritage Night, among other Latino-focused promotions. She also expanded Hispanic Heritage Night programming by welcoming photographers and local small businesses to activate at the ballpark, further deepening community engagement.

A Spanish-speaking representative for the organization, Marroquin supports public-facing translations and media opportunities with local Telemundo and Univision affiliates. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology and a Master of Social Work in Mental Health and Migration from Loyola University Chicago. Marroquin resides in Chicago and is of Guatemalan descent.
