As the director of information security and audit services, Juan Vasquez is responsible for overseeing technology risk and controls of Quandary Peak Research and various clients in the financial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, healthcare, and insurance industries. He has over 10 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, information technology, operational technology, IT audit, and IT risk and controls.

Along with his corporate experience, he has served 16 years in the military and continues to serve as an IT operations manager and exercise planner in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.

Vasquez has led security and audit engagements in various technologies such as AWS cloud, internet of things, including medical device software and hardware, and manufacturing operational technology.

In addition to his information security/cybersecurity concentration, his other passions are entrepreneurial. He has been involved in the production and sale of agave plants, which produce tequila, since 2019. He is the founder and CEO of RLV Agave Producer, a growing agave business in Jalisco, Mexico. As a veteran himself, he has a strong passion for helping uplift and hire veterans and minority members of the community into technology jobs.

Vasquez holds multiple degrees including a master’s degree in cyber forensics and security, and a bachelor’s degree in information security and risk management, as well as management information systems, and finance. In addition to his formal education, he holds information security manager and information systems auditor certifications.

He resides in Chicago. He enjoys spending time with his son Emiliano and visiting family in Jalisco and Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
