Title: Owner
Organization: Jorvan’s Micheladas
Age: 36
Jorvan Garcia is a 36-year-old proud Mexican-American entrepreneur. Born and raised in Tijuana, Jorvan moved to San Jose in 2001, where he grew up on the east side—a place he will always call home.
Raised by a single mother in a low-income household, Jorvan learned the values of responsibility and perseverance at a young age. Although his family had limited resources, their hard work instilled in him a strong drive to build a better future.
Jorvan began working at just 13 years old at a flea market in San Jose, assisting vendors. It was there that he discovered his passion for sales and for connecting with people. From that point forward, he remained consistently employed, often juggling two jobs, primarily in customer service and retail.
In 2017, while working at Hertz and El Torito, Jorvan developed a passion for mixology and the restaurant industry. That same summer, he launched his first michelada brand, initially selling to friends out of a garage. While he enjoyed being his own boss, Jorvan recognized that there was still much to learn.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jorvan faced significant challenges as work opportunities slowed. With two daughters depending on him, he made the courageous decision to fully commit to his michelada business. At one point, he balanced three jobs—working at the airport during the week, cleaning a hair salon in the afternoons, and selling micheladas on weekends.
Through consistency, long hours, and the effective use of social media, Jorvan’s brand steadily grew. Each new customer reinforced his determination to continue pushing forward. After four years of dedication and unwavering belief in himself, Jorvan created a space where people can come together, enjoy themselves, and have a unique experience. In the summer of 2025, he opened his own restaurant, turning a long-held dream into reality.
Today, Jorvan is the proud father of three daughters, and his family remains his greatest motivation. His journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it. With the support of his community, he has created jobs, built a business from the ground up, and demonstrated that the American Dream is attainable—no matter where one comes from.
