Jesse Rivera: Bridging Finance and Community Impact

Title: Vice President

Organization: BOFA

Age: 39

Jesse Rivera is a Vice President in Bank of America’s Global Commercial Banking unit, and a dedicated leader committed to expanding access to capital and opportunity. In his day‑to‑day role, Jesse supports responsible business growth for large privately held and publicly traded companies as a Credit Underwriter. He evaluates financial strength and long‑term potential for clients seeking loans and international banking solutions, ensuring strong businesses receive the funding they need to invest, grow, and create jobs. Through rigorous financial analysis and sound judgment, Jesse helps the bank make balanced lending decisions that support both economic vitality and institutional stability.

Beyond his underwriting work, Jesse helps lead Bank of America’s Chicago Hispanic Latino Business Strategy—a team of nearly 20 experienced and accomplished bankers focused on sustainable market‑share growth and stronger connectivity between the bank and Chicago’s vibrant Hispanic and Latino business community. In this role, he leverages his banking expertise to help entrepreneurs and growing Hispanic‑ and Latino‑owned businesses gain access to the capital and financial tools needed to scale.

Jesse brings more than 13 years of financial services experience to his work. He holds an MBA from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Illinois University.

He has also contributed to the city’s cultural and nonprofit community, including service on the National Museum of Mexican Art’s Auxiliary Board, where he proudly served as Co‑Chair of the Dia de los Muertos: Love Never Dies Ball.

A first‑generation Mexican American born and raised in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, Jesse grew up just blocks from the bustling 26th Street commercial corridor and within sight of the downtown financial district’s skyscrapers. Today, he is grateful for the opportunity to bridge those two worlds—supporting the success of businesses across the country and the world from Chicago while championing economic opportunity within the community that shaped him.
