Financial crises entail not only economic hardship and social vulnerability; they also serve as fertile ground for the emergence of business opportunities—much like the one discovered by Jay Manjarrez, founder of Glass Experts, LLC.

“When the market collapsed in 2008,” he recounted, “I felt that a glass company was needed, as the industry had lost some of its largest manufacturing and installation firms due to the market downturn.” That was the moment the lightbulb went off for him, and—true to his instincts—he decided to launch his own business within the sector.

A native of Mexico, Manjarrez arrived in the United States at the age of three. He grew up in Washington, studied Construction Management in Chicago, and—over 15 years ago—took a leap of faith by founding his own company, an enterprise that has since generated over four million dollars in annual sales.

Beyond reaping those financial rewards, the entrepreneur has also honed his business acumen and, today, boasts a robust network of partners and clients in Schaumburg, Illinois. Now, he noted, his objective is to “strategically expand the business into new locations, generating higher revenue in the short term while laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth.”

With a career forged through sheer hard work and resilience, Manjarrez told Negocios Now that he envisions “a future in which our business not only prospers but also serves as a legacy for our children, empowering them to carry forward our passion and our values.”

A staunch advocate for innovation, community engagement, and a commitment to excellence, he has likewise set himself the goal of “creating a multigenerational company that enriches the lives of our clients and contributes positively to our community.”

Speaking of community—and given his equal passion for the real estate sector—he also owns MJE Investments, LLC, a company that enables him to invest in, rent out, and sell properties in Northwest Chicago. “I take pride in revitalizing neighborhoods and contributing to the region’s growth, as I believe that a thriving community benefits everyone,” he concluded.
