Humboldt Park Health Gala celebrates community and bold vision for wellness

CHICAGO, IL — On Friday, June 6, 2025, Humboldt Park Health will host its 11th Annual Power of Community Gala at the stunning Rockwell on the River, celebrating a decade of growth, transformation, and unwavering commitment to the health of Chicago’s underserved communities.

This year’s event, themed “Innovating Healthcare. Redefining Wellness. Inspiring Bold Change,” will bring together civic leaders, healthcare innovators, philanthropists, and advocates for an evening of celebration and purpose, spotlighting the hospital’s evolution into a model of holistic wellness on the city’s West Side.

“This Gala is more than a celebration — it’s a reflection of what we can accomplish together and an inspiring evening for all,” said José R. Sánchez, President and CEO of Humboldt Park Health. “Together, we are building a future where care is compassionate, accessible, and truly centered on the people we serve.”

The evening will honor outstanding individuals whose work has had a significant impact on health equity and community empowerment. Chef Rick Bayless, the award-winning chef and founder of Frontera Grill, will be recognized for his dedication to cultural preservation, sustainability, and community nourishment. Dr. Bruce Siegel, President & CEO of America’s Essential Hospitals, will also be honored for his leadership in national healthcare advocacy and policy.

Special recognition will be given to Senator Omar Aquino, Representative Lilian Jiménez, and Alderperson Jessie Fuentes, in acknowledgment of their continued support of Humboldt Park Health’s mission and their vital roles in driving the hospital’s growth and impact.

Arabel Alva Rosales — a respected entrepreneur, media personality, and champion of equity — will serve as emcee, guiding guests through a night of inspiration and entertainment.

Attendees will enjoy an elegant evening of curated cuisine, cocktails, a live performance by the Chris Sarlas Orchestra, and both live and silent auctions. All proceeds from the gala will directly support Humboldt Park Health’s efforts to expand healthcare access and improve outcomes in underserved neighborhoods.
