Google has launched a new program aimed at teaching small businesses how to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into their daily operations through its Grow with Google educational initiative.

The announcement was made by Lisa Gevelber, founder of the platform, who explained that the goal is to facilitate access to AI tools at a time when technological transformation is accelerating rapidly.

The main initiative is the Google AI Professional Certificate, a certification designed to offer practical training in artificial intelligence applied to the workplace. The course covers topics such as data analysis, content creation, task automation, and the strategic use of AI tools to improve productivity.

According to information published on Google’s official blog, the program responds to studies indicating that most companies consider AI training essential for their staff, but only a small percentage of employees have received formal training in this area. With this new certificate, the company seeks to close that gap.

As part of its support for small businesses in the United States, Google is offering free access to the certificate, along with three free months of Google AI Pro and Google Workspace Business Standard for eligible businesses. The idea is for SMEs not only to learn theory, but also to experiment with real tools and apply them directly to their operations.

The program includes training in:

  • Creating marketing materials using AI, such as images, videos, and presentations
  • Researching and gathering information to improve decision-making
  • Project organization and planning
  • Data cleaning, analysis, and visualization
  • Process automation without requiring advanced programming knowledge

In addition, Google has strengthened partnerships with organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) network to expand the reach of these training resources in local communities.

The company has also developed similar initiatives in other regions of the world, including training programs in Africa and Latin America.

The launch comes at a time when artificial intelligence is no longer exclusive to large technology corporations. For small businesses, adopting these tools can translate into cost reductions, greater operational efficiency, improved customer service, and new growth opportunities.

With this program, Google is trying to position itself not only as a technology provider, but as a strategic partner in the digital training of entrepreneurs and small businesses seeking to adapt to an increasingly automated and competitive economy.
