Gabriela “Gabby” Chavez-Lopez is an influential leader in Silicon Valley, dedicated to empowering economic and civic participation for sustained regional growth. As the founding CEO and Executive Director of the Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley (LCSV), she drives an agenda that strengthens the role of Latinas in advancing economic development, leadership, and civic influence. Headquartered in downtown San Jose, LCSV is positioned at the heart of the city’s economic engine. This strategic location anchors the organization in a hub of innovation and contributes to the vibrancy and job growth vital to downtown’s revitalization.

Under Gabby’s direction, LCSV has achieved 20x growth across budget, staffing, and reach—a reflection of both the demand for its services and her commitment to collaboration with philanthropic and private sector partners and government agencies.

Through workforce development, economic mobility, and leadership initiatives, LCSV addresses disparities and builds pathways for Latina advancement. Its programs emphasize social-emotional resilience and cultural competence, essential for creating an inclusive economy. LCSV also leads in policy advocacy, removing systemic barriers and fostering economic opportunities that contribute to a more equitable future.

Gabby has taken on another civic leadership role by running for San Jose City Council, District 3. A dedicated advocate for families and small businesses, she has spent over two decades living and working in District 3. As a mother, she understands the need for safe streets, clean neighborhoods, and effective city services. She has secured funding for affordable housing, championed small business growth, and worked across sectors to drive change. Committed to action, she is ready to lead efforts that restore trust, improve public safety, and enhance quality of life.
