Title: Director, Ethics and Compliance – Monitoring and Response
Organization: McKinsey & Company
Age: 38
Cristina Revelo was born in Ecuador and has proudly called the Chicagoland area home for most of her life. She is Director of Ethics & Compliance, Monitoring at McKinsey & Company, where she built and scaled the firm’s first global compliance monitoring program. Leading a dynamic team across five regions, she supports regulatory commitments under DOJ and OIG settlement agreements and has strengthened the firm’s ability to proactively prevent, detect, and escalate legal and regulatory risk with rigor and consistency.
Across her career at McKinsey, Walmart, KPMG, and Affiliated Monitors, Cristina has led complex anti-corruption, risk assessment, and compliance transformation initiatives in more than 14 countries—often within organizations operating under government oversight or active regulatory scrutiny. She has built monitoring programs from the ground up, strengthened internal control environments during FCPA investigations, and modernized third-party risk management and compliance analytics frameworks. By translating regulatory expectations into scalable, operational solutions, she has enhanced governance structures, mitigated enterprise risk, and embedded sustainable cultures of integrity and accountability across global organizations.
A proud Latina and fluent Spanish speaker, Cristina is unwavering in her commitment to expanding opportunity and advancing Latino leadership. She believes mentorship is a powerful catalyst for social and economic mobility and has dedicated herself to opening doors for the next generation. Through Erie House and Chicago Scholars, she has mentored students from historically marginalized communities, guiding them through high school, the college application process, and the transition to higher education. She serves on the Advisory Council for Youth Guidance, supporting initiatives that reach more than 13,000 students annually across under-resourced Chicago communities. As VP of Mentorship for ALPFA Chicago, Cristina actively builds leadership pipelines, strengthens professional networks, and equips Latino professionals with the tools, confidence, and community needed to lead with excellence, integrity, and lasting impact.
Cristina holds both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
