Who’s Who in Covid’s time
This seventh edition of Who’s Who in Hispanic Chicago comes out at an unprecedented moment in our lives, caught in a terrible pandemic that, at the time we finished this edition, had killed more than 500,000 and infected another 10 million worldwide.
For our business community, Covid-19 has been devastating, especially for countless small businesses that have been unable to survive, or work at reduced capacity, with no income for four months.
In a biological tsunami, we suddenly found ourselves working from home, asking for help of all kinds to continue operating, and away from any social gathering in order to prevent the spread of a deadly virus.
Like many other publications across the country, Negocios Now has also been impacted by the pandemic. And although we have suspended our traditional gala, this did not prevent the publication of our long-awaited edition of Who’s Who in Hispanic Chicago that recognizes Hispanic leadership in different spheres.
In keeping with the times in which we live, Negocios Now did not overlook in this edition the role of an army of Latino heroes who fight against the pandemic in various ways and come to the rescue of our community, which has been especially damaged by Covid-19.
Despite the coronavirus, we have our seventh edition with biographies of more than 100 Hispanic leaders who have never been on our list. It would not have been possible without the sponsorship of Wintrust, ComEd, BMO Harris Bank, Peoples Gas, Remy Martin, Accenture, Hilco, Dominican University, and Miramar Group. possible without the sponsorship of Wintrust, ComEd, BMO Harris Bank, Peoples Gas, Remy Martin, Accenture, Google and Miramar Group. and the growing support network of Negocios Now that already has more than 38,000 followers on its social media platform.
