HACE has been an integral part of Chelsea Beckford’s career development and in her role as a customer engagement manager at Morningstar.
The manager on the Customer Engagement team is responsible for training facilitation and content creation for Advisor Workstation. Prior to that, she was responsible for the training facilitation and content creation for MorningstarSM direct platform – Morningstar’s investment analysis software.
Previously, she worked as a marketing associate for the workplace solutions group for Morningstar. There she focused on leading digital marketing strategies and creating comprehensive marketing reports.
For the last three years, she served as the global lead for Morningstar’s Latinx and Hispanic ERG, VIVA. The group is dedicated to upholding and enriching the colorful LatinX culture in her workplace.
The group’s three main goals are recruiting, community outreach, and retention. Some of the group activities this year include a career and credit panel with the Chicago Math & Science Academy, recruitment outreach with nearby universities with high LatinX populations, and a panel discussion with LatinX Chicago leaders in the financial space. She also has volunteered as an equity and access employer council member at the University of Chicago.
Before Morningstar, she served as a digital paid media intern.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bard College where she served as Bard Immigration Group president and was a Posse scholar.
She said HACE has been an integral part of her career development through the different workshops and conferences she has attended. They have helped her gain insight into how to advance her career and advocate for herself and her community.
The partnership she has established with HACE has helped develop leadership skills within herself and the VIVA group at Morningstar.
