HACE served as one of the first organizations to open Brajin Vazquez’s eyes to the vast wealth of opportunities available to Latino leaders. The HACE leaders’ course greatly impacted his professional development.

A native of Puerto Rico, he earned his associate’s degree at Norwalk Community College and then his Bachelor of Applied Science degree, focusing on Cell and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at Eastern Connecticut State University.

For the last 11 years, he has used his biotechnology background working at Unilever. The company’s portfolio ranges from nutritionally balanced foods to ice creams, affordable soaps, luxurious shampoos, and everyday household care products.

He serves as the Global Packaging Development Manager where his focus has been on product development science with experience developing personal care products. His work has varied across multiple categories and includes deodorants, haircare, skincare, skin cleansing, and facecare.

He began his career at Unilever as a Laboratory Technician before becoming, Senior Technician, Associate Scientist, Scientist, Senior Scientist, Senior Packaging Engineer before moving on to his current position.

He has supported the formulation development of Dove Men’s + Care face products such as men’s shaving, face care, and face cleansing. He leads global formulation design and development of technologies across Simple, St Ives, Noxema, and Ponds brands.

He has also worked on the manufacturing process development of hair care products in the North American region. He has worked in cross-brand functionality that supports multiple brands and products. This includes scale-up of new formulas for innovation projects, improvement of manufacturing capabilities, value improvement projects, and quality improvements. His 2012 contributions assisted in raising Unilever to number one in the hair business in the US marketplace for 2012.

Over the years, he has worked on a wide range of the research and development of Antiperspirants, Aerosols, Clinical Soft Solids, Body Sprays, and Deodorants. This included preparing samples for stability and analytical testing, chemical batches, inventory of raw materials and stock solutions, data entry, and Waste Management.
