Aurora Diaz: Building power, visibility, and ownership for Latina founders

Aurora Diaz isn’t just creating a company—she’s building an ecosystem designed to correct a long-standing imbalance in the beauty industry. As the founder of The Jefas, a Latina-focused beauty e-commerce marketplace, Diaz is tackling a clear and persistent gap: while Latinas are among the most influential consumers in beauty, Latina founders remain significantly underrepresented on retail shelves and digital platforms.

Through The Jefas, Diaz is developing the infrastructure to change that. The platform not only amplifies and sells Latina-founded beauty brands, but also integrates technology, community, and storytelling into its core. Among its innovations is an AI-powered color-matching tool aimed at improving the online beauty shopping experience—particularly for consumers often overlooked by mainstream solutions. At the same time, Diaz is building strategic brand partnerships, exploring retail distribution opportunities, launching a podcast, and cultivating a strong community layer that connects founders and consumers alike.

What sets Diaz apart is not just her vision, but her ability to execute across multiple fronts. With a professional background that includes product marketing roles at Google and Facebook, as well as experience in partnerships, community building, and entrepreneurship through ESO Ventures, she brings a well-rounded and seasoned approach to scaling her business. She is not experimenting in unfamiliar territory—she is applying years of experience to a challenge she understands both professionally and personally.

Diaz’s leadership is also deeply rooted in service and mentorship. Since 2012, she has volunteered with the Making Waves Foundation, mentoring high school students from underserved communities in Richmond, California. She has also contributed to the Chicana Latina Foundation by reviewing scholarship applications, further demonstrating her long-standing commitment to advancing opportunities for others. For Diaz, The Jefas is not a departure toward purpose-driven work—it is a natural extension of it.

Beyond her professional achievements, Diaz has earned the trust and confidence of those around her. Colleagues and collaborators describe her as someone who doesn’t just talk about impact—she builds it. In an industry where Latinas are often underrepresented, Diaz is creating pathways for others to enter, grow, and lead.

In every sense, Aurora Diaz represents a new generation of founders—one that blends business acumen with cultural insight and community responsibility. Through The Jefas, she is not only reshaping the beauty marketplace but also redefining who gets to participate in—and benefit from—its success.
