Amaris Torres is the Capital Planning Supervisor for Peoples Gas, which is a natural gas delivery company that serves residential, commercial, and industrial customers in the city of Chicago and is a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group.

In her current role, she manages the risk management and capital planning team. Her team leads multiple initiatives that impact different departments across the company in the cost effectiveness, planning and execution of our largest project that takes place annually until around 2040. This multi-million dollar infrastructure System Modernization Program (SMP) is needed to upgrade the natural gas delivery system to ensure safe and reliable natural gas services to the residents and businesses in the city of Chicago. Prior to her role as the Capital Planning Supervisor, she worked as a Senior Analyst, leading various initiatives for process improvement and designing and testing a multi-million dollar SAP project which was responsible for overseeing the upgrade of various SAP financial and business applications, SAP reports, and processes that were required to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the company’s financials.

She worked the majority of her career in the utility industry, however, she took a couple years away from corporate to pursue volunteer work with The World Race where she backpacked to over 16 countries leading and mentoring teams as they assisted local non-profits in various projects for their communities. In 2021, she was elected to be the co-chair of Listo!+ (Latino-Inspired Support for Talent and Outreach) which is the Latino employee resource group at Peoples Gas.
