Aileen Iñiguez is a first-generation Latina Data Scientist and Applied Mathematics alumna from the University of California, Berkeley. Not only are her initials A.I., but she is a changemaker and leader in data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Raised in a low-income community in East Oakland, Aileen discovered her love for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in sixth grade. Her middle school exposure to soldering and robotics sparked a curiosity that persists almost two decades later.
Currently, Aileen is a Data Scientist at Lagunitas Brewing Company (a Heineken brand), where she leads their AI and data transition. She also has extensive experience in cloud technology, data science, and machine learning across industries and nearly every business function. Her technical work ranges from sales optimization at Lagunitas, to supply chain metaheuristic algorithms at Chevron, to early analytics work in HR at LinkedIn. Aileen’s strengths are transforming complex business problems into strategic, data-driven insights that influence decision-making at senior leadership levels.
Her technical expertise in the mathematical and computational sciences has been widely recognized. She was featured in a biographical short film exploring her professional journey and has appeared in Forbes and CNN. Aileen is a two-time national STEM conference keynote speaker and a longtime advocate for diversity in tech, especially for Hispanic and Latina women. She has helped many students and emerging professionals launch their careers, with several securing positions at renowned companies.
Aileen’s mission is to raise awareness of programming and data bias in AI, support her underrepresented community, and motivate the next generation of tech leaders. By leveraging her unique background, she aims to increase the 2% of Latinas in computing roles in the U.S.
