Equity-Driven Support for Communities

Title: Manager of Wellness and MTSS

Organization: Rocketship Public Schools

Age: 34

Adriana Luna is a dedicated social work professional with over a decade of experience supporting students, families, and communities through school-based mental health services and community engagement. She holds a Master of Social Work and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from San José State University, where she also earned her B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Child and Adolescent Development.

As a proud DACA recipient, Adriana’s lived experience fuels her passion for educational equity and advocacy for underserved communities. She understands firsthand the challenges many students and families face and brings that perspective to every aspect of her work. Currently, Adriana serves as the Manager of Wellness and MTSS at Rocketship Public Schools, where she leads a team of six mental health providers across San José and the East Bay. She designs and implements social-emotional and behavioral support systems tailored to meet the unique needs of all students, including those requiring intensive services.

Previously, she managed Rocketship’s CareCorps program, a wraparound support initiative serving 13 Bay Area campuses. In this role, Adriana developed partnerships with community-based organizations, led a team of coordinators, and helped create systems to address chronic absenteeism, housing instability, and access to mental health services.

Beyond her work in schools, Adriana has provided trauma-informed therapy to immigrant and refugee families at FACTR and supported crisis response efforts through roles at Amigos de Guadalupe and Community Solutions. She offers culturally responsive services in both English and Spanish and works closely with youth, families, and educators to build strong, inclusive support systems.
